Scalp Psoriasis Home Remedies

Scalp psoriasis is a skin disorder that causes a lot of discomfort and can be very embarrassing too. This condition is characterized by red and flaky patches that appear on the surface of your scalp and itch constantly. These patches are referred to as psoriatic plaques and can also occur on the elbows, knees or any other body part. However, almost 50 percent of those who get psoriasis suffer from scalp psoriasis. The condition in severe cases affects the entire scalp wherein there are thick layers of scaly patches and may even result in some amount of hair loss. In a few cases, scalp psoriasis may even spread further onto the neck, behind the ears or on the forehead. Red patches on the scalp are primary symptoms of scalp psoriasis that will be accompanied with a lot of itching. The scalp may also turn dry because of which it may crack and begin to bleed in some cases.  

Scalp psoriasis treatment is possible at home or by taking a few medicines prescribed by your doctor if the condition is mild and not very severe. Natural cure for psoriasis on Scalp includes heating some olive oil and applying it to your scalp after which you cover your head with a hot towel for a couple of hours. Salicylic acid is an ingredient that is found in a number of shampoos and soap. This is used very often in order to make the scales soft due to which they can easily be removed. You can even use a shampoo that contains dead sea salt and in case you do not find these products, you can simply mix this salt with your normal shampoo and rinse your hair with it. Mix jojoba oil and aloe vera together and apply this to your scalp as it serves as a good conditioner. You need to apply it overnight and then wash it the next day. Chamomile oil, eucalyptus oil or lavender oil can be applied on the scalp as they provide relief from the itching and burning sensation. You can prepare a hair mask for scalp psoriasis cure by taking one ripe avocado, one tablespoon of olive oil and honey. Mix all of these ingredients together to form a paste. Once this is done you could then apply the paste on your scalp. You should wear a shower cap to cover your head, allow it to stay for an hour and then wash.
