Dry Hair

Today every individual is concerned about his hair. Be it hair colour, style or anything related to hair, it bothers them.  Hair grows below the surface of the scalp. Hair in its basic form is 100% keratin therefore for good and healthy hair our diet must consist of easily digestible protein. The three main types of hair are dry hair, oily hair and balanced or normal hair.

Oily hair is a result of over secretion of oil. Since it is usually accompanied by oily skin the scalp and hair gets too oily. They need more maintenance therefore should be washed every third or fourth day. Neem and henna rich shampoo could be helpful in their maintenance. A person with oily hair must avoid oily food and must increase intake of green leafy vegetables and fruits.

Balanced or the normal hair is the most desired hair. It has good shine and is healthy. It does not need much maintenance but one must concentrate on good and balanced diet to maintain them.

Dry hair is the result of lack of sufficient moisture and wht would be a better cure than using a home remedy for dry hair. Normal hair generally has a moisture content of 10 %. If the moisture content of hair drops below this level than it is unable to attract and retain moisture. Some of the reasons for the loss of moisture are inactive oil glands, over exposure to sun, chemical treatment etc. Another reason for the dry hair is accumulated oil which blocks the pores thus not allowing the oil to flow to the surface. Dry hair needs a lot of nourishment.

There are many synthetic products available in the market for treatment of the dry hair. But use of such synthetic products for long time may cause some problems with the hair or the scalp. One must opt for home remedy for dry hair. As home remedy for dry hair is natural and herbal it is completely safe and cost effective.
